This is a very simple / easy talk which I hope will be useful to people who do a lot of sourcing, and need to keep to a tight budget on a project.

You can use a pen and paper or a text file to manage a parts list, but there are some features found in spreadsheets that may make your life a little easier in the long run – especially when you need to re-order parts or look up prices.

Sorting and filtering lists is easy once you know how to set up your spreadsheet and how to access the tool's features. Hopefully, I'll cover things people are unaware of, and are useful.

(I'm anticipating there's a way to program lighting cues with a spreadsheet, but I'm quite a ways away – maybe someone else knows how?)
